The property care association also known as the PCA and formerly known as BWPDA regulate all members and offer ongoing meetings, qualifications, advice and support in order to keep members up to date and knowledgeable within the industry. All members acting as surveyors must have the necessary qualifications to join and must also take part in the Continuous Professional Development Scheme ensuring that study is refreshed regularly, which is then scored on an annual basis.

PCA members are able to offer insurance backed guarantees which means that any work carried out is covered by insurance should there be any failures in the treatment, in the future. This is the case should the contractor carrying out the works cease trading. It is important to have the correct paperwork and guarantees, especially when coming to sell your property.
